[edit]Move to actual case name?
[edit]Yes, 6ix9ine is the most famous person indicted in this case and the main reason that it is covered by sources, but there are several co-defendants including his manager who is already relatively notable — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.243.229.133 (talk) 03:37, 28 November 2018 (UTC)
- Actual case name seems too long. That's why I made the article titled "Trial of 6ix9ine" since he is arguably the only reason why this case has so much coverage. Yes, Shotti has some notability too which is why I included him in the opening paragraph, but I don't feel he's significant enough to be in the title. Not many outlets are reporting on how many years minimum Shotti or the rest of the defendants have to face. Nice4What (talk) 13:01, 28 November 2018 (UTC)
Shotti is only relevant because of 6ix9ine tho SlovonManob (talk) 05:00, 5 December 2018 (UTC)
Name Change?
[edit]"Trial of 6ix9ine" just sounds generic. 6ix9ine may also have another trial in the future and so this name falls out of line. A better name would be "Racketeering trial of 6ix9ine", this title would differentiate the trial from Daniel`s previous Child Sex video conviction. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Parttime18 (talk • contribs) 18:08, 4 December 2018 (UTC)
- I actually think we should do the opposite and rename it to something like Legal Issues of 6ix9ine to broaden the scope. I don't think Wikipedia is the place to have a separate article for every criminal case about public figures. (I know these cases are usually individually notable and get lots of coverage; but its just not content of long-term encyclopedic value in my opinion.)--NØ 08:04, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
- I'm late to this, but I'd just like to state that I think it's valuable to have a page dedicated to this case. I understand that Wikipedia is not the place to have a page dedicated to each individual criminal case involving public figures, but this is a fairly prolific case in the hip-hop community, and has been largely ignored by the mainstream media. Having its own page creates one single place to have his entire case details, as they slowly develop. When his case ends and he's sentenced, it would be appropriate to discuss merging the article with 6ix9ine's main page.Thatdave (talk) 06:45, 22 May 2019 (UTC)

Trial of 6ix9ine → Trial of Nine Trey Gangsters – All co-defendants are members of or affiliated with the Nine Trey Gangsters. The case isn't just limited to 6ix9ine. Aitch & Aitch Aitch (talk) 10:25, 26 September 2019 (UTC)
- Agree - 6ix9ine actually isn't being tried here, so the page shouldn't be named for him. RBolton123 (talk) 11:59, 26 September 2019 (UTC)
- Disagree – The main focus of the case here is 6ix9ine. There have been plenty of previous cases related to the Nine Treys. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Don't forget to share a Thanks ♥) 01:27, 27 September 2019 (UTC)
- But none of them have been particularly notable. At the very least, this could be renamed to "2019 Trial of Nine Trey Gangsters". RBolton123 (talk) 13:44, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
- Support – Per Aitch & Aitch Aitch and RBolton123, this trial is not just about 6ix9ine, he is the main focus because he is a popular rapper right now. JE98 (talk) 22:36, 27 September 2019 (UTC)
- Agree - This trial may of been for 6ix9ine however the trial was not for him. The trial was to bring down Nine Trey. 6ix9ine wasn't on trial here, he was just on the stand.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Felslayr (talk • contribs) 12:53, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
