[edit]Tri-Cities, Tennessee-Virginia
I don't think it matters much, but your undiscussed move of Tri-Cities, Tennessee-Virginia to Tri-Cities, Tennessee isn't really correct. Bristol is half in Tennessee and half in Virginia - the tri cities definitely includes the Virginia side. I speak as a former resident of the area. - DavidWBrooks (talk) 20:18, 4 March 2020 (UTC)
- DavidWBrooks, it was not an undiscussed move. It was a reversion of an undiscussed move. It was also in keeping with how metropolitan areas are generally covered, when the suburbs encroach on other states. For instance, New York metropolitan area. Perhaps an actual discussion is in order. – Muboshgu (talk) 20:25, 4 March 2020 (UTC)
- Sorry, I missed the reversion. The difference is that it's not the suburbs or adjoining community that crosses the state line, it's an incorporated city in a different state that constitutes half of one of the "three cities" - the state lines runs right down main street. I can't find an exact wikpedia parallel - Kansas City metropolitan area is also a split city but the article covers just the one city, not multiple cities. There are too many "tri-cities" areas to name it without a state, so we can't take that route. - DavidWBrooks (talk) 21:07, 4 March 2020 (UTC)

Having visited Bristol several times, I must concur with user:DavidWBrooks that this title doesn’t quite serve. West Helena, AR is a suburb, or “bedroom community.” East St Louis and West Memphis are separate cities. Bristol, on the other hand, is one city bisected by a state line. I’m sure there were strong opinions expressed when the town and the line were established. Fiery, opinionated folk in those parts. Probably a compromise, about taxation, I’m sure. IMO, further discussion is necessary, and I would think a page move.
