I find the use of "trees and shrubs" very odd... same thing with the proposed article "Urban woods of Perm". Are there any articles with similar names in wikipedia? I'd think that a more appropriate name (well, more commonly used in English) might be "urban parks", "greenspaces" or something similar (and "Urban wilds" instead of "Urban woods"). Maybe even "greenery". What was the rationale for choosing "trees and shrubs"? Esn 07:16, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Trees and shrubs" was the only translation given by dictionaries for the term "зелёные насаждения". I am not sure if "urban parks" or "greenspaces" would be appropriate here, because the article covers not only trees in parks and open places, but also trees at the sidewalks of streets and so on. — D V S [?!], 07:29, 29 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]
May be "greenery" will be better… I'm not sure. — D V S [?!], 07:40, 29 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]
As for "urban woods", it is planned translation of ru:Городские леса Перми. It sounds a bit odd already in Russian, because it is a bureaucratic term, taken from the official papers. The article talks about forests situated in the borders of Perm. Maybe "Urban forests"? — D V S [?!], 07:40, 29 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]
The best translation of "Городской лес" is "urban forest", yes. I'm still not sure about "trees and shrubs"... I suspect that there must be some designation for them in Western cities, but I don't really know. Esn 09:18, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
