@Anthony Appleyard: The original paper introducing the program calls it TREE-PUZZLE. In the literature, it is referred to as TREE-PUZZLE (most common), tree-puzzle, or Tree-Puzzle (least common). All oficial materials and documentation consistently call it TREE-PUZZLE. Not sure how to tell whether it is a stylization? And what would it be a stylization of - probably not of "Tree puzzle" since only Wikipedia calls is that. Rentier (talk) 23:28, 16 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose CAPS per WP:MOSTM and WP:CAPS. As to capitalization "tree puzzle" in GBooks indicates Tree Puzzle as a proper noun. But is "(Strimmer and von Haeseler, 1996)" the same software as in the article? In ictu oculi (talk) 23:22, 16 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@In ictu oculi: I was under impression that TREE-PUZZLE was a proper name and thus allowed by the guidelines. Was I wrong? Tree Puzzle is an algorithm used by the TREE-PUZZLE software package - but they are not the same. Rentier (talk) 23:32, 16 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I see. How about Tree-puzzle, then? It is used in the literature, though not as commonly as the fully capitalized form. Tree puzzle without hyphen doesn't really work unless we want Wikipedia to call it a name not used anywhere else. Rentier (talk) 23:45, 16 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
