" It introduced nitrogen fixation and photosynthesis into the terrestrial habitats approximately 450 million years ago.[9]" I don't have access to the cited document, it being in a book, but this statement is nonsense. Trebouxia does not fix nitrogen, nor does any green alga. Did it _permit_ or _favour_ the introduction of N-fixation, maybe.
