I think that the question of whether or not the Spanish repudiated the treaty once Ferdinand VII was safely back in Madrid cannot be answered because Ferdinand was released at Girona Catalonia on March 24 and by the time he reached Madrid Napoleon had abdicated and the treaty was moot. Just because a reference was found that asserts something is true doesn't mean that it is. I suggest editing the article to reflect that Spain was never required to perform on the part of the treaty requiring British ejection from Spain due to the abdication of Napoleon rather than that they intended to dishonor themselves by signing a treaty they had no intention of living up to. 174.58.100.83 (talk) 17:09, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
