Dynamics of filaments
[edit]I rewrote the section on 'dynamcis of filaments' a bit. I would say its more streamlined now. Also I emphasized that different critical concentration are a true non-equilibrium phenomenon. Without ATP there is no treadmilling. A reference is missing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Benjamin.friedrich (talk • contribs) 14:53, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

Rated "high" as important concept of e.g. microtubule dynamics. The article is a pitifully short stub. - tameeria 00:59, 19 February 2007 (UTC) Fleshed out, it is a rather important concept, although I would think that this topic is somewhat advanced, it is usually taught at a 3rd year biology level. - Chronic since 1992. I split the Dynamics of the Filament down into subsections titled Microfilaments and Microtubules. There are differences in their polymerization mechanisms that are pertinent to the treadmilling phenomenon. I also added in the microfilament regulators profilin and cofilin, as I think it is important for readers who want more information on treadmilling regulation. I edited the critical concentration section and consolidated it as in previous versions it was described twice. I really think a picture of the treadmilling mechanism would improve this article and I am working on finding one or making one. Dylan L (talk) 02:25, 18 November 2016 (UTC)
I have created and added an image of actin treadmilling for the article. Dylan L (talk) 20:39, 20 November 2016 (UTC)
