Trading of recent draft picks
[edit]According to MLB rules, you can't trade a player who was drafted within the last calendar year. That means that if the Myers trade goes through (not a sure thing at the moment), and if Turner is indeed a part of it, he will be kept out of it as a player to be named later until one year after he was drafted, meaning June 2015. – Muboshgu (talk) 15:01, 18 December 2014 (UTC)
Discrepancy
[edit]The Fayetteville Observer says Turner played high school ball all four years, but the Palm Beach Post says he was cut from his school's "travel" team in his freshman and sophomore years... – Muboshgu (talk) 16:21, 20 December 2014 (UTC)
- That's not necessarily a discrepancy.. he could have played for the high school team all four years and still been cut from the travel team. The travel team was probably an offseason team that played in tournaments during the summer. My son has played some high school ball so i'm familiar with the concept, the rosters aren't always the same as the normal school team. Spanneraol (talk) 16:50, 20 December 2014 (UTC)
- I see. I was under the impression that travel baseball teams are generally not affiliated with high schools, which was the biggest point in my confusion. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:21, 20 December 2014 (UTC)
Discrepancy
[edit]Trea Turner has just signed a Contract and is not a Free Agent, but a Piladelphia Phillie, I would bet this whole Wikipedia community that he does in fact play baseball in Philly Next season. Please update your outdate Wiktionary to reflect the current signing. The news is all over Twitter and facebook. - You do see the word "reportedly" in that tweet, right? If this deal falls through before it's completed, it wouldn't be the first time fake news was all over Twitter and Facebook. – Muboshgu (talk) 02:20, 6 December 2022 (UTC)
New team
[edit]Trea turner is now apart of Philadelphia Phillies Mattout27778 (talk) 02:42, 6 December 2022 (UTC)
- Not yet he's not. – Muboshgu (talk) 03:15, 6 December 2022 (UTC)
- His instagram literally has him in a Phillies jersey. The Phills website says he is a member of the team. Trea Turner is a Philadelphia Phillie.

- Instagram is not a reliable source. And MLB.com says the deal is "pending a physical". – Muboshgu (talk) 15:29, 7 December 2022 (UTC)
Should we mark him as a Phillies player?
[edit]Turner (the subject) has confirmed he is a member of the Phillies. He has confirmed it in his Instagram bio, and the deal has been sealed for roughly 1 day at the point I’m writing this. Yourfavcarl (talk) 22:03, 6 December 2022 (UTC)
He himself and phillies president of baseball operations dave dombrowski has announced it, I think we can mark it official NerdyMadMo (talk) 14:40, 7 December 2022 (UTC)
- Dombrowski hasn't announced anything of the sort. – Muboshgu (talk) 15:28, 7 December 2022 (UTC)
He’s supposed to be announced tomorrow. We’ll see then, I guess. Yourfavcarl (talk) 22:37, 7 December 2022 (UTC)

Add The Standing Ovation?
[edit]I Think We Should Say In The Philadelphia Phillies Part This: On August 4th, 2023, The Philadelphia Phillies Fans Gave Turner A Standing Ovation, Since Then, His Stats Have Seen A Significant Increase. Matthew Campbell (talk) 19:17, 9 October 2023 (UTC)
