Notability
[edit]Hi, I've updated the footnotes and references for this article. I believe it's now fairly clear that this article qualifies for notability, according to Notability_(web). First, Travellerspoint has been "the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent of the site itself." Second, it won the Travel Mole Award, which is a significant and notable award for the Travel & Tourism industry. As a side note, it won in the same category as Travelocity and Opodo, who both have Wikipedia pages. Ericnicolaas 05:09, 9 January 2007 (UTC) ericnicolaas
Advertising style issue
[edit]I have reworked the article to sound less like an advertisement, but the tag is still up. Can any editor suggest what else needs to change, or is the article acceptable? --Ericnicolaas 00:36, 15 May 2007 (UTC)ericnicolaas
- What exactly is your connection to the website or its parent? Montco 01:08, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
- I'm an editor at Travellerspoint, but why is that relevant? As per Wikipedia:NPOV, "all editors and all sources have biases", but views on Wikipedia are required to be represented "without bias". The information I have included in this article is factual, so I believe that it qualifies as having been presented "without bias". As per WP:NOT#SOAPBOX, the requirement is that articles be written in an "objective and unbiased style". If it is felt that this article still needs improvement in that regard, could someone suggest what else needs to change (or change it)?--Ericnicolaas 21:25, 15 May 2007 (UTC)ericnicolaas
- There is also the issue of conflicts of interest. I asked whether or not you were connected to the firm and you answered the question to my satisfaction. When I have more time, I will make some changes to hopefully trim the ad-sounding language.Montco 04:48, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
