Suggestion - The article needs a brief description of the embryology involved in transposition of the great vessels - i.e. failure of the spiral septum to spiral. This would give the article more content and make it less like a list of Congenital Heart Defects - any thoughts, am happy to write if required. M

putting any common embriology info here would be great (I don't know alot about this specific area, so forgive if I say things that don't apply), I wasn't sure what else could fill this article out without making it too specific (ie, info belonging on one of the articles for a more specific arrangement of the great arteries), please do write up anything you notice that could go here! If you prefer not to write it, you can leave me the info I'll need and I can write it up, then you could check to make sure I've used it in the proper context...or whatever...it would be great to get some expansion on this article. bcatt 12:09, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

Terminology section

I believe that there is a mistake in the terminology section, with the statement 'The term "TGV" is often used as a more specific reference to transposition of the great arteries (TGA); however, TGA only relates to the aorta and the pulmonary artery, whereas TGV is a broader term which can relate to these vessels as well as the SVC, IVC, and pulmonary veins.'

I believe that it should be written as 'The term "TGV" is often used as a LESS specific reference to transposition of the great arteries (TGA); however, TGA only relates to the aorta and the pulmonary artery, whereas TGV is a broader term which can relate to these vessels as well as the SVC, IVC, and pulmonary veins.'

TGV vs. TGA

Image in infobox

The image in the infobox isn't very useful to a layman, primarily because it doesn't clearly mark where the blood comes from and hence what the problem is. Another issue is that the use of abbreviations makes it confusing. It would be better to have marks like ‘to lungs’ and ‘from lungs’ directly in the image, as that would make it immediately obvious, even to the layman, what the problem is. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.139.82.82 (talk) 05:57, 19 February 2016 (UTC)
