Credibility

[edit]

Not sure quite how to come up with a citation for: 'TDPF's reports and policy documents have gained wide credibility' But its a good point.

  • Thought of using link to [1] -But it's off their own website.
(Yet one has to be pretty well thought of to keep getting asked to take part in some of these events.)
  • Also, it has also been funded by other foundations of a type, that have excellent vetting procedures (those that have personally applied for grants will understand this only too well) These foundations are:-
The Allen Lane Foundation,
The Network for Social Change,
The European Commission,
The Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust,
The Linnet Trust, The Glass House Trust,
The Esmeé Fairbairn Foundation and
The Network of European Foundations and finally
The Linbury Trust.
  • Also, some of their sponsors are (I would think) pretty level headed and that would suggest TDPF passes the credibility test. But again it's still off their own site. [2]
  • And I don't have any video of the 'big wigs' nodding in agreement on the television debates or in the House of Commons.

But independent evidence of this groups credibility would be an important addition to the article but can't think of a source that would sum it up. However, it maybe that the average reader could form their own idea from the information as a whole.
Any comments?--Aspro 14:26, 11 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I work for TDPF (information officer)and have a done a general update and clarification —Preceding unsigned comment added by Steve Rolles (talkcontribs) 14:21, August 24, 2007 (UTC)

In terms of credibility I can point to TDPF giving written and oral evidence to, and being quoted in Parliamentary Select Committee Inquiry reports (Home Affairs Select Committee Drugs Inquiry 2002, Science and Technology Select Committee inquiry into the drug classification system 2006), being cited on a number of occassions in UK House of Commons and the House of Lords debates, being awarded UN special consultative NGO status in 2007, being invited to speak at various UK and international conferences, doing collaborative work/events with academic institutions (including the London School of Economicss), and range of other achievements detailed on the acheivements page in About us' on teh transform site. Transform's media profile also speaks to the organisations credibilty - (see 'Transform in the media' in the website). Steve Rolles (talk) 14:32, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Other Organizations

[edit]

'Parents Against Legal Additive Drugs: Parents Against Legal Additive Drugs website

This organisations needs to have a link to (or from) this site. The concerns of both org's are mutual !!! (I think!?) --Aspro 22:53, 12 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Knocked up this template:
Maybe all the other (suitable) organizations could be added to it. Then place it on the other articals that need it. Cuts out having to do a lot of editing on lots of articals. But perhaps it should be for internal links only.. I don't know.
