Short name of Directive

[edit]

This Directive is of course old enough that it doesn't have an official short name. But all most Internet references I can find (apart from Wikipedia) continue to refer to 2001/23/EC as the Acquired Rights Directive. I think we should do likewise, unless there is a reference for the common use of this short name Roybadami (talk) 20:54, 16 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, further research finds some references to thie Transfer of Undertakings Directive which are not obviously derived from Wikipedia - but Acquired Rights Directive seems to be much more common. We could do with a subject matter expert on emplyment law to tell us how this Directive is actually typically refered to within the field. My inclinations would be to rename the article, though, and for the lead to say "The Acquired Rights Directive (also known as the Transfers of Undertakings Directive)..."
