POS transaction
[edit]POS Transaction redirects to EFTPOS which redirects to debit card. A POS transaction is not a debit card. A POS transaction is made up of line items, discounts, tender types one of which could be a debit card and basic accounting figures. Transaction → Transaction (disambiguation) –
- Transaction is a disambiguation page but should link to Financial transaction per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC Diego (talk) 13:09, 9 January 2012 (UTC)
- Has there been some discussion to establish there is a primary topic. It is not at all obvious that financial transactions are the primary sense of the term. older ≠ wiser 13:24, 9 January 2012 (UTC)
- The previous version of the disambiguation page included a definition for financial transaction as the primary one. I requested the move because this link to transaction is the one I needed at Moral hazard to define transaction, but DPL bot thinks it's an invalid one for being a disambiguation page. Diego (talk) 14:34, 9 January 2012 (UTC)
- Why don't you just use a piped link, like people usually do for disambiguated pages? 76.65.128.132 (talk) 05:19, 10 January 2012 (UTC)
- I did. But that required me to move the content that I wanted to link to the a different article, because that content was in the disambiguation page itself. Diego (talk) 09:49, 10 January 2012 (UTC)

- Oppose. "Transaction" is a very general term, with many "primary" meanings to many different people, and in many different contexts of use. The present page (being a DAB page) shows this particularly well: and there are more senses of the term occurring in titles but not listed on the page, as we see from this internal search and this one. Very little is gained here by artificially establishing a "primary topic"; and much is lost. NoeticaTea? 00:56, 10 January 2012 (UTC)
- Oppose prove that that is the primary topic. I don't see it that way. 76.65.128.132 (talk) 05:18, 10 January 2012 (UTC)
- Comment The problem was that this page already established financial transaction as a primary topic at this version, which was not a proper disambiguation page. I fixed it by moving the extensive definition content to the related article, and then requested the page move to keep the status quo. If there is no consensus that financial transaction is the primary topic, the current version should be enough and the move is not needed. Diego (talk) 09:47, 10 January 2012 (UTC)
