Optical activity?
[edit]This molecule does not have mirror symmetry. Therefore the physical properties of a racemic mixture are probably different from those of the optically pure versions. Is there any literature on that?
(Chung et al. say that the formation of a solid layer of electrolyte decomposition products is important to prevent degradation of graphite electrodes in lithium batteries. Racemic x optical may affect that...)
Same question applies to propylene carbonate, by the way.
