What a rough town Tranent is. Thank goodness I never have to get off the bus there.82.41.29.1
- I guess you must come from somewhere "less rough" then, like Haddington or Dunbar. I think you will find if you get of the bus it's not as "rough" as you think. Of course the town has a long history of being a working class area - but that doesn't mean it's rough. You might be missing out on so many nice things like visiting the local pubs, which are full of very colourful characters - I can personally recommend "The Tower". You could also shop there at the local Co-op Superstore. Some of the surrounding countryside is breathtaking including the walk up to nearby Faside Castle where you can get a fabulous view of the Firth of Forth from Edinburgh, over to Fife and encompassing views over East Lothian to the Lammermuir Hills, North Berwick and Traprain Law. See what you're missing --Billps 16:52, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
- I suppose I am also being biased here, but... "the pubs, which are full of colourful characters"...eh yes. The same person, no doubt, who bit off that poor guy's nose and ear! Tpacw (talk) 16:44, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
Ian Black?
[edit]What is the connection of Ian Black (footballer born 1985) with Tranent? His article says he was born in Bathgate, and doesn't mention Tranent. --Hroðulf (or Hrothulf) (Talk) 19:19, 24 June 2010 (UTC)
