How real or prevalent was this "tramp chair"?

While I realize that the Internet does not yet contain all the knowledge of humankind, I nonetheless must be suspicious when Google shows only 97 unique hits for "tramp chair". Some of these have nothing to do with this particular device and almost all of the rest have to do with either the replica of a tramp chair in the American Police Museum or a similar (identical?) one up in Maine (somehow tied to Stephen King).

That being said, I still decided not to nominate this for deletion since there probably was such a device in use at one time, but it seems to me that it was not at all widespread and instead was rather rare. Madman 04:22, 11 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It is shown in episode 213 of the Dean Cain hosted tv version of "Ripley's Believe It or Not!"
