Response to Mountains

[edit]

The third paragraph should be cleaned up. It discusses the response to Mountains Beyond Mountains and contains a random list of facts without any organization. Many of the references are gratuitous -- is it not enough to say that the book was a NY Times Bestseller? Does it really matter what a random actor thinks about the book (it's not as though it inspired Ed Norton to pursue a similar career). Likewise, is it important which schools assign it as homework? Furthermore, none of these references are cited.

Mountains Beyond Mountains is an important book, but these examples do it a disservice by making it sound instead like a book striving to be important.

I agree that this page needs some organization. I guess if there were more discussions then we would be able to give credibility to the page. --GnothiChristos 20:17, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I did a little bit of cleanup as per this discussion. Wouldn't it be more helpful, though, for the critics to do it rather than just complain about it?MaterTerribilis (talk) 17:21, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Two edns of House?

[edit]

   Two editions are listed:

  • [ early works ]
  • Kidder, Tracy (1985). House. Boston: Houghton Mifflin. ISBN 0-618-00191-3.
  • [ about 3 intervening works]
  • Kidder, Tracy (1999). House. New York: Mariner Books. ISBN 0618001913.
  • [ more recent works ]

Note that the publisher has changed, but the ISBNs differ only in their punctuation, which i believe serves only to delimit fields for the human reader.
