69 Corona

[edit]

I am looking for the 1969 Toyota Corona Parts Catalog... Where can I find one? I am looking to restore the one that my father had and passed on to me....

search the internet... Davert 14:53, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

T190

[edit]

"The UK produced Carina E is notorious to have some parts of slightly lower quality than the one produced in Japan." This is poor English and it's hard to understand the meaning, with the strange notorious/slightly combination, and it's also rather vague and unsubstantiated. Scatterkeir (talk) 17:04, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm going to take that clause out now, as it's nearly eight years since I said that and four and a half since I added the 'citation needed'. Scatterkeir (talk) 09:11, 13 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Isn't it called the COROLLA

[edit]

No, it isn't. Different car, similar name. Davert 14:53, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

T170 dimensions

[edit]

Are there any references to the claim that the T170 is 1700 mm wide? I have a 1988 and a 1992 model here, where the registration papers say they're actually 1690 mm wide. (And the length of the sedan is 4440 mm, by the way.) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.149.20.84 (talk) 03:11, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Drivetrain

[edit]

Drivetrain?

This could use some more information regarding the drivetrains in the later models.

Yes, it could Davert 14:53, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My parents owned the 1975 model. It was a REAR WHEEL DRIVE. This article incorrectly states Layout as FR. It should be RR. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 153.2.246.32 (talk) 18:56, 9 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

RR stands for Rear engine Rear drive, which the Corona never was, FR stands for Front Engine Rear drive, the correct layout desitnation(Regushee (talk) 20:43, 9 February 2010 (UTC))[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Toyota Corona 70's.jpg

[edit]

Image:Toyota Corona 70's.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

maxima not a toyota car

[edit]

the lower timeline of toyota includes the nissan maxima, which is obviously not in the right spot

[edit]

I'd like some opinions about the appropriateness adding car clubs to this section. --THE FOUNDERS INTENT PRAISE 14:38, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Better to ask at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Automobiles. Stepho-wrs (talk) 22:55, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Carina II name

[edit]

Does anybody know if the Carina II name was introduced on the T150, T160 or T170?  Stepho  talk  22:40, 22 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Avalon: A Full-size not a Mid-size

[edit]

The Toyota car timeline lists the Avalon as a mid-size car along with the Camry. But it's clearly a full-size car. Even the Avalon article categorizes is as a full-size. Is this a mistake? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Acrainier1 (talkcontribs) 15:17, 24 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This is one of the standard arguments between Americans and the rest of the world. What Americans count as mid-size, most of the world counts as full-size.  Stepho  talk  22:33, 24 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I am making the argument for full-size from the point of view of an American living in U.S. I have always perceived the Avalon as full-size. And, it has been marketed as such to rival the Nissan Maxima and some other American cars like Buicks.
I think the Toyota car timeline needs to be updated with Avalon as full-size for the sake of consistency within Wikipedia.
U.S. publication positioning Avalon as full-size:

Sounds good. Please feel free to make the change when you are ready.  Stepho  talk  23:09, 25 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Timeline updated to Avalon as full-size. Please disregard my comment in the Toyota -Avalon edit section. I got confused about something. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.252.214.165 (talkcontribs)

1966 Toyota Corona

[edit]

It should be notable to mention that the dimensions of the 1966 Toyota Corona are still used in the measurement of the capacity of roll-on roll-off vehicle ferries. I am unsure of the exact calculation but I am certain this vehicle is used as the standard even today. Perhaps editors with the proper skills can properly research and add this information. I believe this Corona has this distinction because it was the first vehicle popular enough to be transported on a truly global scale. Thanks! 98.235.68.109 (talk) 01:05, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
