Unencyclopedic content

[edit]

Does this article have a problem with "Wikipedia:What wikipedia is not" (Wikipedia is not af Travel Guide)? Claims like "Tourism in Denmark is characterized by the friendly, relaxed atmosphere" and "A trip of its own should be planned for Copenhagen" seems to violate NPOV policy. This might be more appropriate in the Wikitravel project. Zarniwoot 15:03, 8 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I might be a Dane living in Denmark, but this article almost made me sick. The (neutrality) tag seems to be too little for this page! Blech! 130.225.54.2 04:00, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I second what 130.225.54.2 said. "Windmills, antique (pictured) and modern, accent the gently rolling meadowlands of Denmark"? Eww! It would be more appropriate to write what the tourism in Denmark is like. I have no insight in the tourism industry, though; I only know that there are many Germans on Djursland because of the sommerhuse ("light" bungalows). It would be good with some expert help.

I agree that the writer went a bit overboard with his praises of Denmark. :-) Maybe someone should tone it down a bit. -- Boereck 14:16, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I don't know precisely if this is a representative sample of the Danish tourist industry, but it is a fact that the official tourist guide for the island of Møn (perhaps 50 page colour brochure) sells the place on its peace and tranquility, and indeed recommends taking a visit to the local library. The locals in Copenhagen told me not to bother locking the car. So while this does read like platitudes, it may also be NPOV. But yes, it is rather short on details. The world's oldest kingdom

[edit]

Since Denmark has got a short period as a republic, Sweden surpasses it by many years as the oldest kingdom. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.250.165.156 (talk) 22:48, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Huh? Anyway Japan beats Denmark as the oldest reigning monarchy. Denmark is only the oldest European kingdom. It has diplomatic significance when royalty meets, where some seatings are based the age of the ruling houses. Carewolf (talk) 16:10, 15 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of POV content

[edit]

This has gone on too long (see above) and I have now removed the unencyclopedic content. Unfortunately, this meant almost the entire article, except images and some links. I couldn't find anything else in it that should be here. Note that the article should not be deleted, as the subject is notable. I am not an expert here, but we need information such as: Number of tourist, contry of origin, impact on Danish economy, most visited attractions etc... Please help. Need for serious revision and expansion

[edit]

This article does not go very far in describing all the opportunities for tourism in Denmark. I will try to add some content myself but others should try to contribute too.--Ipigott (talk) 19:58, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
