*** Edit *** - there is a serious problem with this article

[edit]

I'm sorry but I find the editing for Wikipedia very alien, can someone please do the repair for me.

The problem with this article is that there should be an article on the meaning(s) of the word totality. I am sure ‘Totality’ is used in astronomy - as at a special point in an orbit where three bodies are or come into perfect alignment. I think ‘Totality’ is used in maths in set theory - totalities are connected to the universal set or may even be used as another name for it - as in the universal set is a totality. Finally I think ‘Totality’ is used in AI where it is closely connected with the theory of Tautologies a central part of predicate calculus.

This should be enough for a stub article - as for references I suggest dictionaries of astronomy and mathematics, the AI is more difficult, I was taught it in university about 10 years ago, I think in a course on the formal logic of computation - books and articles on this subject are unfortunately quite hard to find.

Please don't leave comments on the articles themselves; that's what talk pages are for. As for the other meanings, I don't think any of them deserve their own articles, but maybe a disambiguation page is in order. —Keenan Pepper 03:55, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
