I just cant understand why "Torture stake" redirects to "Instrument of Jesus' crucifixion". Can anyone explain me? --Jacques de Selliers (talk) 19:37, 26 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Because there are certain branches of Christianity -- in particular, I think the Jehovah's Witnesses -- who have very specific beliefs about the way in which Jesus was crucified; specifically, they refer to the wooden framework as a "torture stake" rather than a "cross". Still, a torture stake is much more than the Jehovah's Witnesses specific belief about the way in which Jesus was crucified. It is just as redirecting "Automobile" to, for instance, "Chevrolet Corvette (C2)" because some people believe that it is the ultimate automobile!
