unaccredited adult school
[edit]TUSD also has an adult school (located on 182nd Street) that lost it's accredition by the Western Association of Schools several years ago and has not been able to earn it back.
What this means in practical terms is any TUSD high schooler who takes classes via the adult school can apply the credits toward graduation, but the coursework is NOT recognized by the the UC and CSU systems. In addition, student athletes who have taken courses at the adult school will not have their coursework recognized by the NCAA, making them ineligible to participate in NCAA sports.
Many TUSD students attend the George Kiriyama Community Adult School (with campuses in Gardena and Carson), part of the Los Angeles Unified School District, in lieu of the TUSD adult school as the LAUSD schools are recognized by the UC and CSU systems as well as the NCAA. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.87.87.203 (talk) 17:15, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
