This article needs some work. I noticed a reference to Judaica databases, which is redlinked. I never heard of them, and I don't think we need to refer to them. Obviously, every field has online databases these days, but I don't see the connection. I won't act without a second opinion, though. YechielMan 04:11, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
- The article reads like an annotated list and as such it is pretty good. I think the redlink is a subtle hint that the article needs to be written. It is true that every field has databases, but many fields do not have databases of databases. When they become so commonplace that we need database3....

Request Edit - Sefaria
[edit]Sefaria is an online database of note - the software is open source and the texts are nearly entirely public domain or in the commons. As of this writing, it has thousands of texts, and over 150 million words. The Wikipedia article on the project goes into detail.
It was removed from this article in 2017, in a general purge. I think it was done so in error.
I have a COI (I work for Sefaria). I have discussed it in the context of links to texts before, on WikiProject:Judaism, and it has been adjudicated and resolved favorably at COIN#Sefaria_requested_edits.
This request is up a meta-level, of course, but I think the logic still holds. — Preceding unsigned comment added by LevEliezer (talk • contribs) 20:16, 12 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hello, LevEliezer. Although this article is on my watchlist, I hadn't noticed that the section on free databases had been erased. I restored it, and added a Wikilink to the article about Sefaria (which I use on both my desktop PC and my phone and find immensely useful). If you need information added here (or elsewhere) and feel like your request is falling on deaf ears, please feel free to reach out to me directly. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 03:12, 13 June 2018 (UTC)
