[edit]I don't understand what id wrong with my page and why does it change everyday I revisit it? Tshooto 14:12, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
- The page changes because other editors work on it. It is not your article: as soon as you hit the "Save page" button you irrevocably release your contribution under a Creative Commons license, meaning that anyone can edit and redistribute it as they see fit. In its original form the article did not conform to a number of Wikipedia polices; other editors are correcting the issues. Yunshui 雲水 14:24, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
Yunshui,
I am very sorry I didn't understand Wikipedia's policies! Please do not delete my page! I've spent 46 years building my career in music and feel I deserve this site. I will not' edit any longer. Please reconsider! Thank you Tony Sciuto Tshooto 15:22, 21 February 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tshooto (talk • contribs)
- You aren't required to give up editing; and there's nothing wrong with making a few mistakes in your early Wikipedia career - there's a slew of policies to conform to, and even veteran editors screw up sometimes. There are a couple of pages you should definitely read, however.
- WP:AUTOBIOGRAPHY - this is an explanation of why publishing your autobiography on Wikipedia is strongly discouraged. See also WP:COI.
- WP:NOTE and especially WP:BAND - these explains the criteria under which an article about you would be considered for inclusion. If you meet any of these criteria, you can provide evidence at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tony Sciuto to help convince me and other editors to keep the article.
- WP:TUTORIAL - this is a basic guide to the process of editing Wikipedia; it may not tell you anything you haven't already figured out, but it does link to some of the more pertinent policies.
- I'm always happy to help if I can; leave a message on my talkpage if you want to get in touch. Otherwise, you can always ask for help and advice at the helpdesk. However, it is worth remembering that we are here to build an encyclopedia; if your sole motivation for contributing is the idea that, "I should have an article about myself!" then you probably aren't here for the right reasons. Thank you Yunshui, Maybe I worded that improperly by saying "I deserve this site" but the information I've given is true and worth being in an encyclopedia for anyone's info. I've read and 'understand' now that I cannot link to cd sites that people could download my music from and I understand I cannot link to www.youtube.com what else am I doing wrong? I would like to get rid of those boxes at the top of the page. Tshooto 17:00, 21 February 2012 (UTC) Tony Sciuto — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tshooto (talk • contribs)
