Real estate scandal (or not)

[edit]

In this edit, I removed a section which claimed McConkey had been involved in real estate transactions that went bad. Since this section claimed he had been disbarred, it would require good sources. I didn't see any source at all for that claim. The other claim, about 'foreclosure rescue fraud,' was cited to a search page on a newspaper site, which did not mention McConkey at all. If either of these claims can be substantiated from sources, they are worthy of inclusion. Until then they need to be kept out under WP:BLP, as unsourced negative information. Real estate scandal indeed. Tony McConkey just lost his real estate license for committing crimes. Read about it here: http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/maryland/anne-arundel/bs-md-ar-mcconkey-foreclosure-fraud-20101026,0,1469090.story —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.166.57.151 (talk) 16:59, 27 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I reference your policy: This article must adhere to the biographies of living persons policy, even if it is not a biography, because it contains material about living persons. Unsourced or poorly sourced contentious material about living persons must be removed immediately from the article and its talk page, especially if potentially libellous. If such material is repeatedly inserted, or if you have other concerns, please report the issue to this noticeboard. If you are connected to one of the subjects of this article and need help, please see this page.

Are you really saying that someone under the pseudonym "pig enforcer" can make edits and attack me but that I am not allowed to edit the site. Please remove the entire page entirely if I am not allowed to edit. Most of the information is outdated and inaccurate.

More than one editor has suggested that you read WP:COI to see how to proceed. TEDickey (talk) 11:20, 9 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Our biographies of living persons policy is extensive, but basically requires that all information about living people must be sourced to reliable sources, and must be presented neutrally. The information that PorcineEnforcer has added is taken from several news sources, and is presented in neutral language. The BLP policy does not prohibit the inclusion of information that reflects poorly on the subject, so long as that information is supported by credible sources. The only issue I see here is the section title, which I will remove. Yunshui  12:08, 9 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Self promotion

[edit]

It is pretty obvious that User:TonyMcConkey has been using this article as a tool of self promotion/advertising as there are several links that could be used for personal benefit and fairly detailed personal info that only he or a friend/family member would know. He has also remove so-called "negative attacks" involving his real-estate career. I think he should be banned from editing this page.
