1928 Olympic competition

[edit]

A drawing, La grande gelée by "Maxwell Ayrton" of 9 Church Row, Hampstead, was part of the British entry into the Art competitions at the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam. Catalogue programme, p.23

The Sports Reference Olympics site originally identified this Maxwell Ayrton as Tony Ayrton, making him an Olympic competitor. (eg 2017 snapshot). However, the site later revised this to identify the Maxwell Ayrton in question as Tony Ayrton's father 2020 snapshot), who also later exhibited architectural drawings at the 1948 Olympics. The SR Olympics website has now become Olympedia [1]. Jheald (talk) 11:26, 22 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
