Claims in French documentary "Dans la tête d'un tueur en série avec Stéphane Bourgoin" ("Inside the mind of a serial killer with Stephane Bourgoin")
[edit]I see that this article says that he claims about his first murder that it was at age 16, killing a man who gave a child oral sex. In the above mentioned documentary (which I am watching on Norwegian TV), he says that he did it at age 15, killing a man who raped a 7-8 year old. He in the documentary said that he was going to break into a house: "I was casing a house".. Stéphane B. then asked "You were 15?" to which Tommy Lynn Sells answered out loud: "Yeah" to, before proceeding with: "I went over a lawn and through the window of the house, I was someone who raped a 7-8 year old boy, which made him enraged. That night I went back and shot him point blank." The interview was done in English, but then had got French commentary on top. There were also a Norwegian translation, in the form of subtitles. My sitation above is based on what I could hear him say in English, but in part also on the Norwegian subtitles (I do not speak French), where I lost a few words because it was difficult to hear him because of the French commentary. He also said about the first murder: "It was such a rage, that hate that...that anger, it was..." and he proceeded to say that it felt good, that the rage went away when he had killed the man.
I just wanted to add this here, as I see that there is no citation for the article's part about the first murder saying he is 16 and that the man was giving the child oral sex. At least in this documentary, he claims somewhat differently, that he was only 15 and that the man was raping the child (which I would guess that you would rather call sodomizing, since it was a boy - I did not hear if he said "rape" or "sodomize" though, (I heard "a 7-8 year old boy" very well though). In the subtitles it was translated to "rape", as that is the commonly used term in Norwegian - the word "rape" is used both for females and males (rape of female/rape of male).
I don't know if this documentary can be used as a citation or not. I am not sure when the documentary was made, but I'm sure that somebody who knows French can find more info about the documentary online. There is also an article on Stéphane Bourgoin on French Wikipedia. The documentary is part of a series he has done, where he interviews several serial killers (at the start of each episode, they say he is a specialist on serial killers and that he, during a 30 year long carriere has interviewed/talked to over 60 dangerous criminals in Japan, South Africa, USA, Germany... in prisons all over the world. That he is obsessed with understanding and fighting against serial killers).
I hope that this can be of some use, since the article only had one sentence about the first murder.

In an interview on the American series Most Evil, he claimed that his first murder was indeed on a "man who was performing oral sex on a little boy" and the show states it happened two years after running away from home at age fourteen. It's possible that he changes the details of his story with every telling. 64.121.150.175 (talk) 14:56, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
