Middle name
[edit]@Frayae: Has anyone provided a reliable source that states clearly that his middle name is "K"? The source that was used in the request was this but on the same website he is also listed as Thomas K. Porter and T. Porter and Thomas Porter. --Dom from Paris (talk) 13:37, 23 August 2018 (UTC)
- Most of the sources refer to him as "Tom Porter" including one dating back to 1986 [1] his Academy award profil refers to him as Tom Porter. Unless anyone objects I will move the page to Tom Porter (computer scientist) in the same way as other Pioneers in computer graphics eg Henri Gouraud (computer scientist), Martin Newell (computer scientist) Steve Russell (computer scientist). --Dom from Paris (talk) 14:27, 23 August 2018 (UTC)
Comment from the subject of this article
[edit]I just wanted to note that Tom Porter (ostensibly) left a message on my talk page about this article (see here). I have not been on this site for a while so I missed this when it happened. I am copying the comment here in case it is useful:
I just noticed that there's a Wikipedia page about me! Thanks for your contributions to that. The page is fairly good, but I'd love to make some changes.
First, my full middle name is 'K'. Can the Wikipedia entry be for "Thomas K Porter" rather than "Thomas K. Porter"?
Next, I'd love to mention my absurdly low "Bacon-Erdős" number, but that requires listing a bunch of references to published papers, and I have no idea how to format those listings.
What do you suggest I do?
Thanks
tom porter
