Should not be deleted. Notable inventor and business leader, quoted in many news articles in respected sources, such as: http://www.nationaldefensemagazine.org/archive/2011/January/Pages/BeamMeUpSomePower.aspx http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn19389-laserpowered-helicopter-hovers-for-hours.html http://www.aviationweek.com/aw/generic/story_channel.jsp?channel=defense&id=news/asd/2010/05/07/08.xml&headline=Laser%20Power%20Beaming%20Aimed%20At%20UAVs

They appear to be about LaserMotive rather than this person. We need articles that directly address the person to have an article on them. SmartSE (talk) 12:34, 2 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Here is an example of an article more focused on the subject of this page: http://hplusmagazine.com/2010/05/13/beaming-laser-power-interview-tom-nugent-lasermotive/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Carsten.erickson (talkcontribs) 23:41, 2 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm kind of curious how someone can be called a "physicist", when the subject of this article does not hold a degree in physics from any accredited university in the world.
I would suggest moving this article to: "Tom Nugent (engineer)", "Tom Nugent (entepreneur)", or "Tom Nugent (ballroom dancer)". Anyone of these four are more appropriately descriptive of his background than "physicist". Self reverting. While not wholly accurate, the subject's degree was granted by a department of physics. I would still say that given his line of work, the article should be moved to "Tom Nugent (engineer)". My concern below, however, remains. LonelyBeacon (talk) 20:19, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That said, I agree with Smartse that these articles may quote him, and may be about his successful company, but notability is not inherited, and notability must be established through significant coverage of the topic. Being quoted does not meet the significance threshold. LonelyBeacon (talk) 08:54, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
