Picking this up, review coming as soon as possible. Kosack (talk) 14:43, 14 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Lead

[edit]
  • "he had loan spells Dorchester Town", something missing here.
  • Bristol Rovers is linked twice in the lead.
  • The lead is a little short perhaps, any notable career moments to include? Promotions, final appearances, etc?

Exeter City

[edit]
  • Link League One.
  • "Nichols scored his first professional", might be worth starting with he here rather than Nichols. The previous sentence establishes him as the subject and doesn't change.
  • "with Nichols scoring his first goal for Dorchester", I'd swap out Dorchester with "the club" or something similar here. It's the third time in two sentences that Dorchester is used which is a little repetitive.
  • "pleasantly surpirsed", typo
  • "Nichols was recalled from his loan later that month after being recalled by his parent club", this went is basically repeating itself. Could do with rewording.
  • "made 3 appearances" > three appearances
  • Link penalty to Penalty kick (association football).
  • Yeovil Town is linked twice in this section.
  • "scoring in the former, He scored and was named the man of the match in Exeter's 2–2 draw against Premier League club Liverpool in the third round of the FA Cup on 8 January 2016", the capital letter following the coma is probably a typo. Also FA Cup is linked here, but is used a few times before this. Move the link to the first usage.
  • "replay as on 20 January as Exeter", one of these uses of as is out of place.

Peterborough United

[edit]
  • League One is linked here but, as mentioned above, should be linked at the first usage.
  • Peterborough United is linked twice in the first paragraph here.
  • "appeared in 6 further" > six further.
  • "provided 3 assists" > three assists.
  • FA Cup is linked again here.
  • as a 'career highlight', if this is a direct quote, it should use quotation marks.

Bristol Rovers

[edit]
  • League One repeat linked here.
  • "after 6 minutes", > six minutes.
  • "his forst goal", typo.
  • "he told Bristol Post" > the Bristol Post. Also, Bristol Post should be italicised as the name of a publication.
  • "with a penalty goal", penalty goal seems like an odd term for football. Could just drop the goal or change to something like "converting a penalty in a 3-0..."
  • EFL Trophy is linked three times here. Morecambe, Port Vale and EFL Cup are also repeat linked as well.
  • Might be worth expanding on the points-per game scenario, even if it's just something like "after the season was ended early due to the Covid-19 pandemic"
  • Bristol Rovers and Bristol Post are both repeat linked in the final part, the Post also needs italicising again.

Crawley Town

[edit]
  • League Two, Scunthorpe United, FA Cup, Port Vale, AFC Wimbledon and Premier League are all repeat linked here.

Style of play

[edit]
  • Are there any brief quotes from a former manager to include here?

References

[edit]
  • All the refs look well formatted and a few random spot checks come back fine. One minor point is to try and avoid using WP:ALL CAPS in ref titles, such as #57 for example.

Overall, a very neat and tidy article. A bit of overlinking to sort through and a few other minor prose points, but nothing substantial. Placed on hold for now while these are addressed. Kosack (talk) 18:54, 14 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Kosack: Thanks for the quick review - it is much appreciated. I've addressed all the points above though the lead section may still be a little short. The lack of any promotions for Nichols (hopefully he'll sort that out this season) mean it is difficult to expand beyond its current length; perhaps his goals in the FA Cup against Liverpool and Chelsea could go in the lead. Anyway, please let me know if there are any further changes that should be made. Many thanks, Microwave Anarchist (talk) 19:58, 14 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, I guessed that would be the case with the lead, but always worth asking. All of my comments above have been suitably addressed. Happy to promote, nice work. Kosack (talk) 07:24, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
