This article needs some serious work, there is too much focus on today's political discourse and not enough about Nichols' overall career. I'll be taking a look at what is already there and reworking it into a decent biography. Auldhouse (talk) 17:12, 2 February 2019 (UTC)
I've reworked the citations for Harvard Ref--I will be putting material today about political discourse as appropriate. Auldhouse (talk) 01:46, 5 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
This article literally seems to list every OpEd, Newspaper Column this gentlemen has every written. That seems excessive? What do other editors think? I can't think of another BLP I have seen where we have this extensive a list? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bene.Nota (talk • contribs) 16:50, 26 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
On the one hand, yes, it does seem excessive. On the other, I am generally in favor of retaining as much information as we can. After all, the goal here is to compile the sum of all human knowledge. --Slugger O'Toole (talk) 02:21, 27 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
He's a five-time champion, sure, but it sounds like puffery to note in article text that at one point he was considered one of the top players of all time. Do we need the editorializing? Where does he fall on the money list for pre-clue-doubling, five-game-era players? 67.250.93.100 (talk) 13:40, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Footnote 8 relies on a resume provided by Nichols. I suspect that this and other materials may be overstated / self-promotional. Do we have any kind of independent source for this (and other) information?
If we cannot independently confirm this information, should it remain? KenThomas (talk) 02:52, 23 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
