Tom played in "Hot Flash" band

[edit]

Hi, I'm Kar.ma, and I'm copying out two statements originally written not by me but by 66.30.26.217 on Jan 2nd 2009:

  • In the early 70's Tom was in a band called "Hot Flash". They were very popular in Clubs in Massachusets, RI, and Connecticut...Hot Flash was the last band before forming Aerosmith...
  • Tom Hamilton along wiht Brad was in a band called "Hot Flash" in the early and mid 70's He was the one that handled getting paid at closing time. I know because Hot Flash was the most popular band in Connecticut and played at my club in Newington, Ct called Brandy's.
Hot Flash was managed by a local MA booking agent named Billy Masik..

If anyone can verify the reliability of these informations, we could add them. --Kar.ma 20:59, 22 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The subject prefers having the title at Thomas Hamilton (musician)

[edit]

A request came in through Wikipedia's account creation interface at http://toolserver.org/~acc. Here is the message:

Hello: I am user <redacted>. I setup an account for my client Mr. Tom Hamilton under Tom Hamilton: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_H... However, he is asking me to change the name to use his full name such as: Thomas Hamilton (Musician) Can you help me please. I greatly appreciate your help.

This request seems legit, and it was repeated in a direct followup email. (Though not confirmed through OTRS). In fact, the submitter did not create an account for Tom Hamilton, he just wants this page renamed. So I pass the request along to the editors here. Should Tom Hamilton (musician) be changed to Thomas Hamilton (musician)? It may not make a lot of difference, but WP:COMMONNAME would imply it should stay at the current title. (He is referred to as Tom in all the listed references). I went ahead and created a redirect from Thomas Hamilton (musician) to this article but I won't be taking any further action. Instruments

[edit]

The photograph from 2010 shows Hamilton playing a German Duesenberg "Starplayer" shortscale bass. Was that just an episode, or a serious love affair? --Zerolevel (talk) 15:14, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

When did he learn guitar?

[edit]

This text seems to be saying two different things. A single, factually correct sentence should replace this: "He first learned to play guitar from his brother, who received his first guitar when Tom was four years old. Hamilton first started playing guitar when his older brother Scott taught him his first chords at age 12. " 73.68.239.82 (talk) 16:19, 6 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
