Tom Doherty was born April 23, 1935, not 1936
[edit]Tom Doherty is my boss, so I'm not going to edit the article. And furthermore, the only bio I can find of him online that gives the correct date is one written by me, at http://www.tor.com/blogs/2013/04/more-than-thirty-years-later-tom-doherty-is-still-curating-new-worlds.
Tom has frequently remarked on the fact that Wikipedia trimmed a year off his age and that, as a result, most other reference sources now also give him as having been born in 1936. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pnh (talk • contribs) 10:54, 31 July 2013 (UTC)
- Too funny! If by "Wikipedia" you mean "me, myself and I", then I suppose that is the case. You added his DOB as April 23, 1936 in this edit in 2006. (Given that, please feel free to correct it in the article's current incarnation.) Woodshed (talk) 11:03, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
- That _is_ pretty funny. I have no memory of this, but evidently you're entirely correct. Clearly what we have here is an intersection of the curves of (1) failing middle-aged memory and (2) improved understanding of good Wikipedia hygiene. Thanks for the heads-up; I'll fix the entry myself. Pnh (talk) 10:16, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
- But... but... look at the lost opportunity to join the chorus of people whining about those damned Wikipedians and how we never get anything about SF rifht! --Orange Mike | Talk 18:24, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
