Tom and Mary

[edit]

"Tom was appointed a royal librarian and lived to be a very old man, whereas Edward tragically died at the age of 15, but that is unrealistic since Queen Mary I would have been unlikely to spare Tom's life after Edward died."

I don't see any reason to think that Mary would have it in for Tom, who is presented as an honest man with no ambition to power. Historically, Mary even tried to find loopholes that would allow her to spare Jane Grey's life. The "would have been unlikely" bit sounds like speculative editorialising, unsupported by textual evidence. I think the article should end with "Edward tragically died at the age of 15."
