[edit]This needs expansion. Andrews is pretty significant actor in 20th century Irish history for three reasons. One, his role in the Volunteers and IRA from 19196-23. Two, he participated at asenior level in the rise of Fianna Fail and then served a got minister, where as teh articles touches on, he made an important difference (for good orill) to the country's energy and transport policy. And three beceause his memoirs are an important source for these events. Particularly for the perspective of Anti-Treaty/FF Republicans in the 20s and after. Andrews never a govt minister to my knowledge. He headed up a number of semi-states which, although political appointments, are not political positions but commercial. The non-political nature of his role is underlined by the fact he felt it necessary to resign when his son became a junior member of the govt.87.210.209.247 (talk) 09:04, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
