Cancellation?
Under the Cancellation heading, it gives absolutely no information regarding the cancellation of the show. This is definitely something that needs to be fixed. 71.196.115.70 (talk) 08:02, 2 June 2013 (UTC)
Popular Media section
The following text is currently in the Popular Media section:
- The Comedy Central series South Park aired an episode titled "Le Petit Tourette", in which Cartman fakes Tourette Syndrome and goes onto Chris Hansen's show. The plot culminates in a scene that centers on Hansen at the end, and uses multiple pedophiles shooting themselves as a plot device and diversionary tactic. The episode also lampooned the Louis Conradt incident, in which multiple pedophiles commit suicide after discovering they have been exposed on the show.
Am I missing something, or is the last sentence repeating the same information (albeit with more detail) as the sentence before? CleverTitania (talk) 07:10, 28 May 2014 (UTC)
- Hmm, I'm not sure. But there's no problem in going ahead and removing any redundancy in that regard. Flyer22 (talk) 07:20, 28 May 2014 (UTC)
RSN discussion of use of Perverted-Justice.com as source
Please see discussion here: Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard#Perverted-Justice.com EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 17:12, 12 July 2014 (UTC)
- Why did you remove the entire Louis Conradt suicide paragraph? All of that wasn't sourced to Perverted-Justice.com. Furthermore, per WP:Aboutself, I'm sure that Perverted-Justice.com can be used to source information about itself as long as it doesn't violate WP:BLP. Flyer22 (talk) 19:01, 12 July 2014 (UTC)
- @Flyer22: I removed the entire section because without the PJ sourced sentence, the rest was moot and I couldn't reword it properly. Feel free to re-add if you can reword or find a correct source. And sure PJ can be used about itself (as I'm sure it is on Perverted-Justice, but I still need to check), but certainly not about BLPs. EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 03:52, 13 July 2014 (UTC)
- I don't terribly object to the removal of that section, and I'm in no hurry to see it restored. But I don't see how the section was moot without the Perverted-Justice.com source. Like I stated, it was supported by other sources; two other sources, though it is better to use a different source than Esquire. And the section is about a deceased man, not a living one, which is why WP:BLP does not apply to that man (except for in cases involving his family). As for self-sourcing, I noted that because I saw that you'd removed a Perverted-Justice.com reference from the "In August 2006, Perverted-Justice announced" part.
- On a side note: Since I'm watching this article and therefore its talk page, there is no need to ping me to it via WP:Echo. I figured that you are now watching this article/talk page, or that you would check back at it (especially since I linked to my above reply at Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard), so that's why I didn't ping you above. Flyer22 (talk) 04:19, 13 July 2014 (UTC)
- I just looked at the second source of the "two other sources"; I don't see how it supported the last paragraph of that section. Flyer22 (talk) 04:31, 13 July 2014 (UTC)
