Restoration
[edit]I have restored content to the article that is verified by reliable sources. North America1000 17:00, 4 November 2017 (UTC)
- I have restored: " Production involves fermenting the cocoa beans for some time, roasting and grinding them, and then liquefying the final product for bar molding." to the article. This is certainly not "advertising". North America1000 01:54, 5 November 2017 (UTC)
- I have restored, "The chocolate bar is handmade", as this is not "advertising". Most chocolate bars are mass-produced, so this is a worthy encyclopedic point. North America1000 02:00, 5 November 2017 (UTC)
- Nb. A user left a message on my talk page regarding this article (diff), so I have copied it to this page below. North America1000 11:37, 11 November 2017 (UTC)

Hi Northamerica1000. Apologies that I recently removed two unused citations from the article To'ak Chocolate. The unused citations had caused cite errors, but with hindsight they should not have been removed. The content was not promotional and in my view this is a completely valid article. Bar manufacture
[edit]Why do we need to discuss how chocolate is made? Is there something special about the process used for this bar? And what does it have to do with the company, which is what this article is supposed to be about? This was removed more than once and I see no consensus to restore it. Meters (talk) 01:33, 13 November 2017 (UTC)
- Please see the existing consensus at the top of this talk page. You need to gain consensus to remove reliably cited accurate info. Softlavender (talk) 01:37, 13 November 2017 (UTC)
- That's not a consensus. That's the original editor making a statement that no-one replied to. I missed it, and I apologized. Having said that, I have now challenged the material as not contributing anything useful to the article. We don't need a generic description of how chocolate is made. There is no discussion or consensus on this. Meters (talk) 01:47, 13 November 2017 (UTC)
- Most chocolate bars are mass-produced, whereas this product is made using traditional techniques, all performed on-site. Most companies receive their ground cocoa in trucks, made at some factory. North America1000 01:50, 13 November 2017 (UTC)

- I agree with that, and that the information should therefore stay. There seems to also be a lot of additional info in the various citations currently used on this article, and in citations which have been deleted as "unused". Perhaps if a list of sources and possible sources were provided on this talk page, that could assist in improving and expanding the article. Softlavender (talk) 02:08, 13 November 2017 (UTC)
- I also agree to it's inclusion. As stated above, it's not a generic process or description. Nihlus 02:12, 13 November 2017 (UTC)
- Red herring. I didn't remove the mention of it being handmade, or any mention of unusual practices at this company. I simply removed "production involves fermenting the cocoa beans for some time, roasting and grinding them, and then liquefying the final product for bar molding", which is nothing but a description of how any chocolate is made. Again, why should this article go into standard chocolate making practices? Meters (talk) 04:28, 13 November 2017 (UTC)
- The description is not the way the vast majority of chocolate-bar manufacturers manufacture their chocolate bars, so it merits inclusion in the article. Softlavender (talk) 05:16, 13 November 2017 (UTC)

Recent additions to article
[edit]An SPA added a lot of promotional stuff. I deleted all the self-cited material, and moved stuff added to the lede into a new section, and also removed inline external links. I will let others clean it up from here. Softlavender (talk) 17:28, 14 December 2017 (UTC)
Article necessary/advertisement?
[edit]Seems like someone's been regularly adding advertisement like prose to this article for years (which is funny because like anyone is going to read a wikipedia article and go "wow I can't wait to buy 200 dollar candy bars" but I digress) and overall while I'm not quite at the point of nominating the article for deletion, I think it will need serious changes. Have added some markers over suspect portions. 2601:CA:8280:880:AD3A:27A1:F5EB:5F44 (talk) 21:22, 21 July 2024 (UTC)
