Tlell is notable enough not to be deleted

[edit]

For the following reasons I removed the proposed deletion tag, that was put here by Orthologist because he/she felt that Tlell as a village is not notable enough for an article in Wikipedia:

  • Tlell has its very own Canadian postal code
  • Tlell is one of the 10 largest communities population-wise and probably the largest area-wise on QC Islands
  • Tlell is not a remote community, since it is located right at Highway 16
  • Tlell is the centre of much attention with its Music Festival, I think visitors need to be able to get information on Tlell
  • Tlell is also the entrance and home to the headquarters of Naikoon Provincial Park, a point of interest for many visitors

Furthermore, Tlell cannot be merged, because it is far away from any other community and might be incorporated soon. The census also lists Tlell as an independent community and since I inserted references, I believe this article should stay. --Skraelinger 18:15, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, excuse me for the mistake, the article must be kept. I did the Google test which generally isn't authoritative, but in the case of villages/towns it quite is. If it has it's own postal code, however, shouldn't you call it a town? I saw you called it a village, so that's why I proded it. By the way, I'm male.--Orthologist 19:18, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You are right, Mr. I am not sure whether village or town is appropriate, I just saw most web site references call it a village. It is really a special community ;) I haven't seen anything like it before, it is just so scattered out, but I am happy you agree that it is noteworthy. Once you have visited it in person you will also agree whole-heartedly. --Skraelinger 23:35, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
