Format
[edit]Isn't the "Format" section just a longer version of what already is written? 14:13, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, it looks like there is some overlap. It probably needs to be cleaned up and the redundant information removed.
It seems right that the article needs to be cleaned up, or sectioned. Also, it would be nice to get a logo and a formatted Television Show info box. -- GURoadrunner
Series question
[edit]- If they're brothers, why does Dave refer to Titus by his last name? Cubs Fan 05:42, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
- Perhaps Christopher preferred it that way, and it just stuck between them. --Golbez 06:50, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
- Dave is Titus' step brother. His mother was one of Kens ex-wives, who left Dave with Ken, and Ken later adopted. It is revealed in one episode (can't remeber which one) in a song called "The Origin of Dave", as sung by Titus.
- I went to high school with the real-life Dave (in fact, they lived two blocks from me) and I can confirm that is last name is NOT Titus. I haven't talked to the guy in years (in fact, we didn't get along... I feel kinda bad about it now since I had no idea how messed up his home life was), but I'll protect his anonymity nonetheless.
- They say Dave's last name in the series several times, and it's not Titus.

Dave's last name
[edit]Dave's last name is NOT Titus. He is mentioned a few times in the series as "Dave Scullvil," although my spelling is probably wrong. I believe the first time it is mentioned is where Dave gets arrested for stealing Ken's VCR and a cop mentions his last name. I know IMDB and other sites state that Dave's last name is Titus, but they are wrong. If you want to leave incorrect information on this site, so be it. Jbm867 21:05, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
- I have all three seasons of Titus on DVD. The liner notes in each say that Dave's last name is Titus. --Idont Havaname (Talk) 01:05, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
- Both right and both wrong. Dave is often refered to as "Dave Scovill" in the series, but is refered to as "Dave Titus" in the liner notes and the DVD Extras (the interview with Zach Ward). Perhaps we might want to use "a.k.a." when refering to Dave's character's surname.72.82.184.104 11:49, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
- I actually just happened to watch the episode that explains this. Dave was never officially adopted by his dad. This is revealed as a secret that only the main characters know in a first season episode. So it is likely that he has gone by Dave Titus for at least part of his life, even though his real legal last name is Scoville, from his mom. — trlkly 16:55, 24 March 2014 (UTC)
Trivia section
[edit]Please move as much of the trivia section as possible into the main article, and provide sources for it. The article as it stands has too much trivia in it, and it is important to make sure that the information in it is verifiable. --Idont Havaname (Talk) 18:17, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
Episode list & Production code
[edit]I added a template to the episode list for Season 1 to bring it in line with other articles and added the Wikiproject Television template to the top. I am going to do some work on this, but will have to do it in stages. Anyone that wants to go ahead and template the rest of it, feel free to do so. Slavlin 17:27, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
- Well, I got the episode lists added and cleaned up the character list a bit. I think I am going to try putting together a to do list for this article and see if I can get some of the items in this article cited and sourced soon. Slavlin 20:30, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
I removed the production code column (they were totally wrong) - i am going to research the rigth ones and add them then. Then i will also add a section that explain's the differnces in production code order and explains fox's "mistakes". Anyway this will take some time - so be my guest.
- That makes sense then. Are the production codes found in the DVD notes normally? I have both sets so I could look there. Slavlin 19:39, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
Article assessment
[edit]I have rated this article as start class because of the lack of important sections like critical response, production etc. and as low importance because there is little to distinguish it from other articles about television series. This article is quite long but has virtually no sourced information. It really needs cleanup and sourcing.
These categories are arbritrary and are subject to review by any editor who feels confident to do so. Please note that a more formal assessment by other editors is required to achieve good article or featured article status. I used criteria from the television wikiproject guidelines here, article about TV series guidelines here and the assessment guidelines here.--Opark 77 16:07, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Christo.JPG
[edit]Image:Christo.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Cancellation/Intended Ending/DVD Delay
[edit]I found this link: [1] and I was wondering if someone could add information on the show's "cancellation" theory coming from Titus himself and the show's intended ending.
Cancellation: Titus: (laughs) Yeah, well, if you're into conspiracy theories, like the Kennedy assassination, and alien abductions? Check this one out. The president at Fox that cancelled Titus was a lady named Gail Berman, and she knew it was a good show. The week after the show got cancelled, there was an article in TV Guide that basically said, "What the [expletive deleted] happened to Titus?" They looked at our ratings, and couldn't figure out why a network would cancel a show that was doing so well. Well, the official response from Fox and Gail Berman was along the lines of, "We wish Christopher Titus all the luck in his future endeavors." It was basically the show business way of saying, "eat me."
Intended Ending: Titus: The only thing I can think to say is, I know it was only fifty-four episodes, and we never made syndication—but I never sold it out. Fox kept asking me to tone it down, tone it down—and I never would. And that's one of the reasons it's not on the air anymore. But I'm proud of that. I mean, would you rather have fifty-four kick-ass episodes, or fifty-four episodes plus another few seasons that just blew? I'm happy with the fifty-four. And I end up in a mental institution. (laughs)
DVD: I love that that's how the show ended. Was that the original intention?
Titus: Sort of. Well, here's the ending I wanted to do: Titus is in the black-and-white space talking, and the camera slowly pans back to a security room with two guards watching the monitor, and it says "Happy Valley Mental Institution" on the wall. And the one guy says, "My god, this guy doesn't shut up, he just keeps telling these stories!"
DVD Delay: Titus: Well, here's the "grassy knoll" theory. We wanted to release the show on DVD, but the show was not approved for release by Fox until Gail Berman left Fox. So my "grassy knoll" theory is, the DVDs are such an incitement of the show. See, I never watched them back then—I was in them, so I just thought I had watched them. But I sat down to watch all the episodes recently, and I hadn't seen them since we made them, and I was like "Whoa, David Shatral is brilliant! And Stacy Keach is amazing!" And I remember thinking that her not releasing the DVDs while she was still president was just evidence of a bad decision. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.53.177.219 (talk) 06:08, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
List of Titus Characters
[edit]I think there should be an article with more detailed information on characters within the show other then the box in the bottom of the page. There are plenty of reoccuring characters, as well as one time characters who play a huge roll in the episodes. Plus that box has what, a sentence per character and no mention of Juanita Titus who obviously has a big impact in Christopher's life.-D33DeeD33Guy —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.38.128.48 (talk) 09:41, 26 November 2010 (UTC)

Character section, pt. 2
[edit]Since Elizabeth Berkley is listed under the "starring" credits in the infobox, the article should have information about her character. I'd do it myself, but I know nothing about the character.
Furthermore, we need to decide whether or not we are going to list all the child versions or none of them. (Maybe we could leave out young Erin since she only appears once, but we can't include young Dave without including young Chris, as both versions appear more often than young Dave.)

Why is there no mention of Francis Fisher? She starred as Titus' mother.
