Contested deletion

[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because LGBTQ people, particular transgender people of color are significantly underrepresented in the media and on Wikipedia. Tiq Milan's activism work, in line with other activists I have created Wikipedia pages for (Kara Tucina Olidge, Bali White, Wade Davis (American football) and Darnell L. Moore are significant activism in LGBTQ pop and subcultures. Their work is integral to LGBT history and activism. Please inform me of what I can do to ensure this Wikipedia article. I, as a woman Wikipedia editor (also underrepresented) would like to ensure there is more visibility to women, LGBTQ people and people of color. Thank you. The article lacks non-trivial, secondary support to provide notability. reddogsix (talk) 03:38, 4 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Is the list of references not considered secondary support? Srdemuro (talk) 03:41, 4 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
"A person is presumed to be notable if he or she has received significant coverage in reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject." - I thought I had many secondary sources in his Wikipedia article, was there not enough? Srdemuro (talk) 03:45, 4 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Out of the first 15 or 20 references, the only secondary reference I see is http://culturecollision.journalism.cuny.edu/2012/12/11/profile-tiq-milan/. Are there more? reddogsix (talk) 10:46, 4 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Nearly all of the sources you've added to the article are primary ones, not secondary. Bearcat (talk) 01:47, 14 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
