Name

[edit]

It appears that the name of this temple is Trung Tam. "Tinh xa" is more of a description of the type of place it is. DHN (talk) 05:12, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, McLeod is translating TX to be Vihara, and both sources use TXTT. So does the redlink on the template at Vi. If the name was only "Central" then people would just call it "Trung Tam" YellowMonkey (vote in the Southern Stars and White Ferns supermodel photo poll) 06:42, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:

Specific concerns

  • General:
    • Needs convert templates on all the measurements for those who aren't metric.
    • While it's prose is servicable, it wouldn't be hurt by another copyedit by someone unfamiliar with the prose. It definitely showed that it was translated from another wiki, and while I've worked to clean up some spots, it would definitely need more polish before FAC.
  • History:
    • When was Thich Quang born? Shouldnt' he have an article? And one on his movement?
linked YellowMonkey (vote in the Southern Stars and White Ferns supermodel photo poll) 05:36, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
    • What's the vow that formed the tradition?
  • Buildings:
    • Shouldn't nirvana be linked?
    • "A large statue of the patriarch..." I'm assuming this means Thich Quang? Better to be specific here.
    • Shouldn't "darhma talk" be linked to something?
    • "The outlet offers journals published by the government-run Buddhist media, material Vietnamese monks, translations of canonical texts..." I have no clue what "material Vietnamese monks" is... clarify?
    • "... attending to the impoverished and compiling the topic." Huh? Compiling which topic?
    • "Middle-View"? Link?
  • Demographics:
    • Who is McLeod and why is his view important?
    • Number of monks?
I've put the article on hold for seven days to allow folks to address the issues I've brought up. Feel free to contact me on my talk page, or here with any concerns, and let me know one of those places when the issues have been addressed. If I may suggest that you strike out, check mark, or otherwise mark the items I've detailed, that will make it possible for me to see what's been addressed, and you can keep track of what's been done and what still needs to be worked on. I've done all of this except the number of monks, which McLeod did not mention in his very detailed account :( YellowMonkey (vote in the Southern Stars and White Ferns supermodel photo poll) 05:36, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
