[edit]Tinderbox is a software program published by Eastgate Systems that has been in public use for several years. It compares to bbEdit by Barebones or to Inspiration by Inspiration software. I am working now to understand how to do wikipedia tech well enough to make it more than a stub. I am not affiliated with Eastgate Systems, the publisher, other than as a long time customer. I am not sure from reading where I am supposed to put the hang-on tag but I will figure it out and put it there as soon as possible. Marbaehr 19:46, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
A search for "tinderbox" on portal.acm.org ("search the digital library") gives 17 hits and i am pretty sure most (all?) of them talk about _this_ tinderbox. It's an often cited example in hypertext/spatial hypertext research, if required I can give you a specifiy paper, but just now I do not have the time ...

Is the genre content management system appropriate? Personal information manager seems more appropriate.

- Yes; Tinderbox is a personal content management system, a CMS intended primarily for use by individual writers. Tinderbox has a powerful template language for assembling complex documents/Web pages/XML files from many small notes. MarkBernstein 13:44, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
should tinderbox be described as multiparadigm?
[edit]i've added to the categories at the bottom of the page- should this be referenced in the text? Possibly citing examples of how it is used. (blog publish tool, note-taking, Concept mapping, planning, GTD, analysis, etc.) StephenDeGabrielle 22:26, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
Proposed edit:
[edit]Tinderbox seems to be used for a wide variety of tasks,
- as a personal web publishing system, with good support for blog creation and management
- Personal information management;
- Outlining and Mindmapping
- Concept mapping
- Notetaking
- Plot and story construction and writing.
- Creating Hypertexts
I feel there is good evidence for this from the products community wiki and forum; but as this a wikipedia article I think I need something to cite; any sugestions?
