Vandalism
[edit]Someone thinks they're a clever dick. They are, in fact, just a dick. Someone fix the obvious vandalism. I would, but I don't know a thing about this guy.
Heating Pans Venture
[edit]I remember hearing somewhere that it was the rubber industry, not the molasses trade, that made this venture a success. Can anyone verify or disprove this? Davemcarlson 06:31, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
Dyslexia
[edit]What a character! I see that he couldn't spell but was clearly no fool. He seems to have been born with an intuitive sense of enterprise. Is it possible that he was dyslexic?90.240.31.222 21:07, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
Real?
[edit]The whole thing sounds like a hoax to me. Borock (talk) 05:32, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
- What "whole thing" are you referring to? --Gene_poole (talk) 12:12, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
- The very identity of Mr. Dexter and all the "facts" about him sound like a collection of jokes. I didn't mean to imply that the WP article itself was a hoax. I think it reports on a long standing hoax that has been going on for many years. This is only my impression given what the article claims. I have no other knowledge about Dexter, and I might be wrong. Borock (talk) 22:42, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
- Dexter is a well-known historical personnage, and is documented in many citable sources, several of which are already linked to the article. I suggest you do some research on the subject. --Gene_poole (talk) 00:28, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

More info?
[edit]Hi. In the second to last sentence, it says that his house has become a library, or something. Which house was that?
I'mn from Chester by the way. There is a history book which includes a lot of good history on the town, Chester Revisted, and it included a lot of good information of Mr. Dexter. I know that he used to ride a unicycle down Chester STreet, and he got whipped or something for something. I've lost the book, so I'm not sure, but if any one here is from Chester (which I doubt) you could add some more information. I remember there were a lot of interesting things. I'm sorry I can't remember . . . He was called the Earl of Chester though. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Seanpatnaude (talk • contribs) 06:19, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
