what might be his first term

[edit]

"The final year of what might be his first term began at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida." Why is the 'first term' conditional? Seems like it's definitely his first term. However, it might or might not be the final year, or it might or might not begin at Mar-a-lago... Faolin42 (talk) 20:01, 29 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Number of deaths due to the virus

[edit]

Without any intent to start an edit war, I question the un-doing of my March 5 edit regarding the number of US deaths due to the Coronavirus. Had it been an isolated, first-and-only, mention of the virus I could understand that it had no place in the timeline. But that is not the case. There have been repeated mention of commensurate coronavirus actions in the article/timeline; Pence appointed as Czar, the first death, meeting with the pharm companies, Trump comments and 3 unnecessary images related to the coronavirus mgmt team during the past week, without any question as to their appropriateness. If we mention these other minor "political" happenings surrounding the past week I would think the deaths of 11 (now 12)(now 15)(now 17)(now 19 on 3/8/20 @ 6:55PM CST)(now 22 on 3/9/20 @ 10:45AM CST)(now 27 on 3/10/20 @ 11:30AM CST)(now 40 on 3/13 @ 10:15AM CST)(now 47 on 3/14 @ 10:30AM CST)(now 69 on 3/16 @ 10:30AM CST)(now 97 on 3/17 @ 4:30PM CST)(now 114 on 3/18 @ 2:00AM CST)(on 3/22 there were 458 @ 9AM and 582 at 11PM) individuals are just as important if not more so. Common sense warns us that the administration will be involved for quite some time in managing the full panorama of the virus story. I don't think we should ignore the fact that American people are dying. I'm not advocating mentioning every death. But we mention the first and then.....crickets!!! ―Buster7  02:44, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Buster7 Added back. At the time, I didn't believe that the outbreak was large enough to warrant a mention in the article, but seeing how it's progressing I do think now that this could easily become one of many defining moments of his presidency. Mgasparin (talk) 00:32, 11 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Mgasparin Thank you. It is much appreciated. I knew you would be reasonable. I have no intention of suggesting we note each days casualties but the public is being sold ("It's 15 now...then it will be 4... and soon it will zero") a bill of goods by the administration and we should not be partners to concealing the truth of what is really happening. The above clearly shows that the number of deaths are excellerating. Maybe a weekly mention on Wednesday. Let's see what happens. ―Buster7  04:44, 11 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
A weekly mention every Wednesday sounds good. Mgasparin (talk) 06:50, 11 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

cut off flights from China

[edit]

Why does this page not have the date that Trump cut off flights from China? Or am I missing it? GreenIn2010 (talk) 05:06, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
