New found in East Timor

[edit]

Reports [1] [2] are currently pouring in about an ichthyosaur found in 2021 at Mount Lesululi (Cailaco, Bobonaro, East Timor). It is said to have been 34 to 38 metres long according to analysis of the vertebrae. I don't quite believe this when I see the photos of the vertebrae of the ‘monster from Timor’, but unfortunately I can't find any publicly accessible scientific articles on the find either. Can anyone find more reliable sources? The University of Uppsala seems to be involved in the find. There are said to be two scientific articles on the find already published. --JPF just another user 10:16, 27 Oct 2024 (CET) J. Patrick Fischer (talk) 14:56, 27 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
