[edit]Please do not redirect this page to Time After Time (song). That entry is being removed and this one will be added in accordance with the heavy work being done on the discography at Cyndi Lauper. Pacian 16:56, 26 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Who was the male background singer?
[edit]In the chorus, there is a male background singing the same words as Cyndi... Who is that? -- Myria 03:51, 8 October 2005 (UTC)
- I suspect that it's the song's co-writer Rob Hyman of the PA band, The Hooters. -MrFizyx 20:23, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
Grammy nomination?
[edit]Does anyone know if this tune received a Grammy nomination? I seem to recall that it had. -MrFizyx 20:35, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
Co-writer?
[edit]She's So Unusual says that the co-writer of "Time after Time" was Richard Hayman, not Rob Hyman. Who's right? 86.132.140.84 00:23, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
- It was definitely Rob Hyman. You can read about him on his web site. ( http://www.robhyman.com/ ) There should probably be more than a stub on wikipedia. -MrFizyx 23:10, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
- You can verify this by going to http://www.ascap.com and search for the Title Code (T-Code) 500357064--Sylvia Anna (talk) 22:33, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit]There's a cover (pretty bad one) playing on the radio currently - anyone know who its by?
Ronan Keating version
[edit]I can't understand why there is a specific section for the Ronan Keating cover version. There have been numerous other covers and his does not seem notable to me. It may have launched his solo career but it only reached 88th on the charts. There's nothing much else about it other then that. You could write the same level of detail about any of the other covers but there is no seperate sections for them. I suggest this Ronan Keating version section should be removed.Stephen Judge (talk) 16:58, 2 June 2013 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Timeaftertimecover.jpg
[edit]Image:Timeaftertimecover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Australian ARIA chart
[edit]At the time of this single's release, the Australian singles charts were not named the ARIA charts - from mid-1983, the Australian Recording Industry Association had licensed the 'Kent Music Report'. ARIA commenced compiling its own charts in-house from the week ending 26 June 1988. (Pwhytcross (talk) 11:36, 17 June 2008 (UTC))

Recording
[edit]"(...) harmoniser was used in the effects loop, set to delay-pitch-shift up the signal on the left channel and delay-pitch-shift up the signal on the right channel, to create a rich and lush chorus-like effect."
So the effect is the same on both channels? Then why the distinction? 91.15.175.113 (talk) 19:58, 15 October 2010 (UTC) Oliver.
Maybe it's shifted up a different amount on each channel ... or just a typo and it's down on one channel? --Compost (talk) 10:17, 17 March 2021 (UTC)
Donna Hughes covered it on her 2007 album "Gaining Wisdom".
[edit]If anyone wants to add it to the list, go ahead, I vcan't be bothered to figure out how right now (I'm not a usual editor). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.212.21.160 (talk) 17:16, 9 April 2012 (UTC)
musical analysis
[edit]It would be nice if this article on a piece of music ahd more musical analysis. For example, what is the tempo?Kdammers (talk) 05:37, 13 May 2014 (UTC)
The tempo is 130 BPM, but it not rock-solid sequenced. It very slightly speeds up and slows down at various parts of the song to drive it along. --Compost (talk) 10:18, 17 March 2021 (UTC)
covers
[edit]Please add more of the important covers of this song over the decades to this article. Eva Cassidy? Tuck & Patti?-71.174.188.32 (talk) 19:35, 10 December 2015 (UTC)

Personnel
[edit]What's the source for the personnel list on this song? It lists Neil Jason as playing bass guitar, but it's uncited, and to my ears at least the main bassline is very clearly played on a bass synth. (This is also confirmed by various stem packs floating around, but I don't think those are citable in this context.) Is there any official credit list out there that specifically says Jason plays a bass guitar on this track? I've found some reliable sources that list him as playing on the album, but none that talk about this particular song. 172.119.55.225 (talk) 08:47, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
- Ok, did some more digging, this thread has someone who claims to be William Wittman, the engineer, describing the set-up: https://repforums.prosoundweb.com/index.php?topic=17514.0 and he claims the bass is played by Rob Hyman on a synth. (Probably a Prophet-V) He doesn't mention Jason's name. Again, not a reliable enough source to cite directly, but given there's no citation for Jason's inclusion either, this seems like enough evidence to cast significant doubt on his participation on this particular song. 172.119.55.225 (talk) 19:26, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
