Tone

[edit]

"Gage's movies are known for building anticipation - men verbally dance around the subject of sex, staring at each other with a hidden desire that culminates in one of more of the players succumbing to their deepest animal instincts."

This is hardly the neutral tone expected from an Encylopedia. Please someone fix this. --W2bh 17:05, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This article is a joke. All of it, portraying a (and gay porno at that) director as a some sort of artistic genius is ridiculous. I recomend deleting it altogether

Erasure of gay adult cinema references?

[edit]

Kincaid's gay adult cinema has been written about at length in academic work and in articles across the internet. I see that there was a huge deletion of a lot of this information from this article in 2016, with another smaller deletion of his porn past recently. I don't see anything on this talk page about why this may have happened, though the other entries here are fairly old. I also know that this article was recently marked for deletion (the result of which was "speedy keep"), but it seems that replacing the adult cinema piece of his article may help clarify his significance? If I don't hear from anyone, I may work on this article as part of a WikiScholars project. Danielbritain (talk) 23:32, 29 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The editor, K.e.coffman (talk · contribs), cited two Wikipedia policies for removing the content. 1. Wikipedia is not a directory: Porn filmographies are generally discouraged as fluff that carries undue weight in an article. This content is more appropriate for IMDb or IAFD. 2. No original research: The deleted biographical content was unsourced or sourced to Joe Gage's website at best. If academic or just independent reputable references are available, you are welcome to add them. However, observations and opinions need good quality attribution per WP:V and WP:NPOV. 00:04, 30 July 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for the clarifying response! Sorry, I'm new to all of this and didn't see/understand the policy citations. And thanks a lot for the links. I'll be careful when/if I proceed. Danielbritain (talk) 13:23, 30 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
