[edit]@TamilMirchi: Please let me know why it is always the Tamil film that is merged with the Telugu film? Why can't it be the other way? During the 1950s both Telugu and Tamil films were produced in Chennai, Capital of Tamil Nadu State. So, logically, if any merging has to be done, the Telugu film should be merged with the Tamil film.
Tilottama and Mayamalai are two different films shot separately with different cast and crew. So, why Mayamalai had to be merged with Tilottama is a mystery to me.--UKSharma3 (User | talk | Contribs) 02:09, 28 June 2020 (UTC)
- TamilMirchi, this is in case uksharma3 did not ping you correctly. Kailash29792 (talk) 12:36, 28 June 2020 (UTC)
- uksharma3 Mayamalai was merged to this film because both films have the same lead cast and crew. Furthermore, much of the crew and the lead actor are based in the Telugu film industry. Wikipedia has a policy that if pages have very similar content, the they can be merged.TamilMirchi (talk) 15:59, 28 June 2020 (UTC)
- Just to remind you - there was no Telugu film industry during the time these films were produced and released. If the Tamil-language version was dubbed from Telugu, then the two can be included in one article. But these two films were produced and filmed separately. Just because some personalities involved are Telugu-speaking people, it is not correct to merge them on the basis of the personalities' ethnic origin. I hate taking decisions on a racial basis.--UKSharma3 (User | talk | Contribs) 01:48, 29 June 2020 (UTC)

If you are willing to expand the Tamil version, then you can create separate articles. TamilMirchi (talk) 05:19, 29 June 2020 (UTC)
By the way, stop using "race" in the discussion. TamilMirchi (talk) 05:20, 29 June 2020 (UTC)
@Kailash29792: Kindly resolve. TamilMirchi (talk) 05:20, 29 June 2020 (UTC)
