[edit]What is the rational for calling this article the Tiefencastel derailment? It does not say in the article. Also, the Tiefencastel article coordinates appear to be incorrect. Abductive (reasoning) 14:51, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
- @Abductive: - the location was widely reported as Tiefencastel. The Swiss Accident Investigation Board have stated such as the location in their notification that they are investigating (ref #1). Mjroots (talk) 18:04, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
- The primary source you mention says "between Tiefencastel and Thusis", distance of some 11 km. That means either Alvaschein, Lenzerheide, Mutten or Sils im Domleschg. Abductive (reasoning) 21:43, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
- <quote>"The accident occurred on a mountainous train line near Tiefencastel..."</quote> BBC Optimist on the run (talk) 22:04, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
- Near ≠ in. Abductive (reasoning) 01:45, 15 August 2014 (UTC)
- @Abductive: What primary source? I haven't used any. Any statements issued by the Rhaetian Railway would be primary sources. I've not used anything from them. "In" doesn't necessarily mean in the town, but can cover the whole of the municipality. "Near Tiefencastel" works though. Mjroots (talk) 06:08, 15 August 2014 (UTC)
- ref #1 is primary. Abductive (reasoning) 00:32, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
- No it is not! The SAIB are completely independent of the RhB. Mjroots (talk) 05:56, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
- See primary source vs secondary source. 14:53, 16 August 2014 (UTC)

I think we can settle this. The accident report gives the location as Tiefencastel, and further specifies that the accident took place around kilometer 52.4, coming out of the Mistail tunnels. That's a little over a kilometer west of the station. Mackensen (talk) 02:05, 2 August 2020 (UTC)
