Taxonomy: For all marine species, Project Gastropods uses the taxonomy in the online database WoRMS. When starting a new article, do not use sources of taxonomic information that predate the 2017 revision for all gastropod groups ("Revised Classification, Nomenclator and Typification of Gastropod and Monoplacophoran Families" by Philippe Bouchet & Jean-Pierre Rocroi, Bernhard Hausdorf, Andrzej Kaim, Yasunori Kano, Alexander Nützel, Pavel Parkhaev, Michael Schrödl and Ellen E. Strong in Malacologia, 2017, 61(1–2): 1–526.) (can be dowloaded at Researchgate.net), substituting the previous classification of 2005 Taxonomy of the Gastropoda (Bouchet & Rocroi, 2005). Overall: @Cwmhiraeth: Nominated one day before expiry (21 Nov, nominated on 20 Nov). I'm assuming you meant to attach the proper link to the quote, which was easy to find. I am assuming in good faith that you were meaning to attach this link, as no other page has this quote, and the webpage is cited on the article itself. It is always important to cite where your quote came from, and I am assuming you simply forgot to link the original website. Earwig came up with only 2.9% similarity and none are particularly of note to bring up any significant concerns. I really like this specific and weird little factoid, so good job on finding this fact! Ornithoptera (talk) 06:08, 21 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
